The new battery is partially charged and should be discharged before use (refer to your computer manual for charging instructions). It may therefore be necessary to recharge the battery after the storage period.Lithium-ion batteries are rated at 10.8V or 14.4V; in fact they are the same as 11.1V or 14.8V, respectively.
