The new battery is partially charged and should be discharged before use (refer to your computer manual for charging instructions). On initial use (or after an extended storage period), the battery may require two or four charge/discharge cycles to reach maximum capacity. When charging the battery for the first time, the computer may indicate that charging is complete after 10-15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Simply remove the battery from your computer and repeat the charging process. If the battery is not used for one month or longer, it is recommended to remove it from the device and store it in a cool, dry place. It is normal for the battery to heat up during charging and discharging. If not used, the rechargeable battery will eventually lose its power. It may therefore be necessary to recharge the battery after the storage period.Lithium-ion batteries are rated at 10.8V or 14.4V; in fact they are the same as 11.1V or 14.8V, respectively.
