Windows includes a graceful shutdown for faster startup times or a full shutdown for long-term storage, component updates, or problem diagnosis.
Normal power off : Use this option under normal operating conditions. This will close the open program, disconnect and shut down the computer. By default, this option is used to enable the quick start mode. The suspended file is saved before the power is turned off so that the computer starts up faster the next time it is turned on.
To perform a graceful shutdown, click the Windows icon, click Power, and then click Shut Down.
Total Power Off: Use this option for long-term storage or shipping when performing hardware updates, opening the BIOS Setup Utility, or changing UEFI settings and running tests.
To perform a complete shutdown, click the Windows icon, click Power, hold down the Shift key, and then click Stop.
Restart: Use this option after installing software that requires a system reboot, such as new drivers, Windows updates, and antivirus software.
To perform a restore, click the Windows icon, click Power, and then click Restart.
