Suspend mode places the computer in a low-power state to conserve power when the computer is not active for a period of time. In this mode, when you return to your computer, all applications remain open for a quick start. This mode uses very little energy and is recommended if you are temporarily away from your computer. You can manually activate sleep mode or set your computer to automatically pause after a specified period of inactivity.
To enter suspend mode manually, click the Windows icon, click Power, and then click Suspend. Continue with these steps to make changes when the computer automatically enters suspend mode.
In Windows, search for and open the Control Panel.
Find the power supply and click Power Options.
